Mediation is designed to save you a tremendous amount of time, money, and aggravation. All of your court paperwork is taken care of with me.
What I Do
I understand that when you got married, you never intended to visit my website. You are here because you need a divorce, not because you want a divorce. Sometimes a marriage just isn’t working anymore and both parties need to figure out the best possible way to move forward.
You want to know that your kids will be okay, what will happen to your house, how the assets/debts will be split, and how you will afford your expenses. These issues are important to figure out, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend an exorbitant amount of time, money, and aggravation to reach a solution.
Instead of fighting over these issues like you would if you hired attorneys, in mediation my job is to guide the development of your divorce settlement negotiation in such a way that both parties can collaborate in reaching a resolution that works for them.
My job is not to decide what is amicable, but rather support effective communication, keep the conversation cordial, offer suggestions, and enable the spouses to produce their own solutions. I simply will not allow you or your spouse to drive the mediation towards petty, trivial, and disrespectful talking points. Unlike other mediators, I also prepare and file all of your paperwork with the CA court at no additional cost.
If you are out to drain your spouse’s finances, keep your spouse from seeing the children, destroy all hope for a respectful relationship between ex-spouses, all while blowing your own money on exorbitant attorney’s fees . . . mediation is not for you, hire an attorney.
If you are interested in doing the best thing for your kids and your future, while keeping costs to a minimum with a flat divorce mediation fee . . . mediation is for you.
Asa Pitt Mediation’s flat fees for divorce without children are $3,000 ($1,500 each) and with children are $4,000 ($2,000 each). Both spouses are responsible for paying their own court filing fees which are $435 per party. Compared to the average CA attorney’s fees which are around $17,500 per spouse without children and $26,000 per spouse with children . . . both spouses are saving a tremendous amount of money.
At Asa Pitt Mediation, we don’t spend our time fighting. We spend our time moving your lives’ forward
